Hi MFK friends, sorry no baking today but something more important ...
I’m sure Noosa chef Matt Golinski has been in your thoughts since the tragic Boxing Day house fire that claimed the lives of his wife Rachael and three daughters. I’ve thought often about Matt during his 16 week hospital stay. And he is expected to remain in the Royal Brisbane burns unit for some time yet.
Many times I’ve wondered “what more can I do beyond sending a card or letter?” Something to help Matt in the next chapter of his life. So yesterday I was thrilled to read about Plates for Mates - an urgent call to arms coordinated by some of Matt’s closest mates – Janelle Bloom, George Calombaris, Manu Feildel, Damian Heads, Alastair McLeod and Gary Mehigan. A facilitated month long fundraising event for the Matthew Golinski Recovery Fund and McComb Foundation.
Although My Farm Kitchen blog is relatively new and a small but growing community, I’m certain all small gestures we make will help show Matt one grand display of love and support.
For the entire month of April, My Farm Kitchen will donate $10 from every Jam Club Membership sold to Matt’s recovery fund. Additionally I will match these membership donations personally from my own funds. Need more details? please click here.
If you aren’t a lover of farm fresh jam, citrus curd, relish or marmalade but do wish to support Matt through Plates for Mates, I would encourage you to visit the website, find a local cafe, business or event in your area that is also supporting Matt. Thanks so much.
